In a Nutshell
A bustling fishing port with a strong culinary focus. Plenty to eat and some good walks along the coastline easily accessible from the centre.
Parking and Pooping
Padstow sits on the west bank of the Camel estuary on the north coast of Cornwall. We normally make our way down to the harbour front, parking either at the South Quay car park, or more often just a short walk away at the Railway car park. As is often the case in harbour towns, there is little grass around the centre, so we tend to make for the South West Coast Path on the other side of the harbour to get pup comfortable before coming back down into the centre.

Always lots of activity in the harbour
Walkies
The centre is relatively quiet traffic-wise and walking around the harbour front is quite easy. For a longer walk, carry on around the harbour to the west side and up the path towards the long coastal path. Here you have fantastic views across the estuary as you climb the hill, or you can choose to drop down to one the broad sandy beaches. There is no excuse for not getting enough exercise here!

Good walks and views along the coastal path
Keeping the Humans Amused
Padstow has the usual collection of local handicrafts, coastal clothes brands and curio shops. There are plenty of boat trips available from the harbour and also the National Lobster Hatchery to visit, which is dog friendly. There is always activity around the harbour and lots of places to sit and watch the world go by, perhaps with some locally caught fish & chips.

Lots of benches to sit and watch the harbour life
Chow Time
Padstow has some upmarket seafood restaurants and you can't walk far without coming across one of Rick Stein's many establishments in the town. However, we enjoyed lunch at the laid back Shipwrights pub/restaurant which has harbour views and is very dog friendly. There are plenty of places to grab a bench and enjoy some alfresco fish and chips on a nice day.
